Each Rotary Club is committed to engaging in a wide range of community service projects in our four main avenues of service: Community, International, Vocational and Youth, along with a commitment to ‘Rotary Foundation’.
We are always looking for suggestions and ideas on better ways to serve our community and improve the world.
Please feel free to support any of the charities and organisations we support. We will provide links, where possible.
If you would like us to consider supporting your organisation, please check our get involved page or contact us.
Current Community Programs
Wollongong Twilight Markets are held on the 1st Friday of every month from October to March. Held on Flagstaff Hill, Marine Drive, Wollongong from 5.30 pm to 8.30 pm, the markets offer a great opportunity for friends, couples and families to enjoy the camaraderie of food, drink and entertainment.
All fees collected from the vendors plus takings from the bucket at our stall help fund Rotary projects. For more information contact Kay Mireylees on 0403 732 505 or go to the Wollongong Twilight Markets facebook page to find out more.

The Imagination Library programme improves early childhood literacy for children by giving them a free, high-quality, age-appropriate book each month from birth to age 5. This project is the result of a collaborative effort by Illawarra’s Rotary Clubs in partnership with United Way Australia, a not-for-profit which is licensed to offer Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library here. More information on this programme can be found here.
Dream Cricket is a program for children with physical, sensory and/or intellectual disabilities. It uses specially adapted cricket activities to help the children develop skills such as balance, movement and hand-eye coordination. It also builds confidence and self esteem, and judging by the happy faces is a lot of fun.
A wonderful aspect is that senior high school students help with each of the activities so they share the day and gain an understanding of the difficulties that some children experience.
We hold a clinic annually, usually in March/April in the grounds of Fairy Meadow Demonstration School. For more information about the program, or to inquire about participation, contact us by email.
Like many Rotary Clubs, Corrimal has its own BBQ caravan. It is used for many community events including the Wollongong Relay for Life walk & Spring into Corrimal family festival.
The Caravan will be found in the Wollongong Mall at the Gateway Corner during the Annual Wollongong Santa Claus Pub Crawl in December.
