Illawarra Clubs march to say NO to Domestic Violence
Despite the rain on Saturday 25th November, the Walk again Domestic Violence went ahead with a good contingent of Corrimal Rotarians and friends taking part.  The walk was led by DG Tonia Barnes and Julie Collareda and was organised as a combined Illawarra clubs event to raise awareness against domestic violence.   The walk started at Fairy Meadow surf club car park and ended at Stuart Park.
After the walk there was a series of speakers.  AG Margaret Uitterlinden did an excellent job as MC. DG Tonia spoke of the role of Rotary and the partnership with the NSW Police and future initiatives. Kirrily Dear talked about her organisation "Run against Violence", which has a focus on gender-based violence. Stacy Jane touched emotions, relating her personal story of domestic violence and how that led her to starting Escabags.
It was a very successful event and hopefully will lead to conversations and change.
